I have created horror

Excuse the scruffy kitchen.
I think this is as bad as it gets
I have made a pot in my pottery class which is so hideous I almost feel the world can't support it, and then I have taken a hideous photo of it in the kitchen while it is scruffy (while the kitchen is scruffy) and in bad light. It cracked after its first firing (the bottom dropped off), and I was secretly delighted. I looked at the pottery teacher sadly and said I felt it was unrescuable. He looked at me back and said 'nonsense. Araldite' and I knew I was doomed. In the end, the glaze stuck it back on in the second firing and I am instructed to 'put a plant in it because then the water can drain out through the crack'. You see, it's almost like a design feature.

The small blue pot with the protrusions I quite like though. Admire my innovative use of glaze!
Bonus picture of stylish new boots. Yes, I'm shamelessly taking you right back to 1991

Great boots!

Allow me to take you back a couple of decades further, to the 1970s, as your pot reminded me of the episode of The Good Life where they try pottery making (in series 2 so google tells me). It is certainly impressive that you have made a pot, not many people have these days. The blue spiky one looks very funky (what a word to use, I've been watching too many 1970s sitcoms...)

Glad you are back!

Taken together, your pottery trio bring to mind coral that you find in the Indian Ocean.

Was it the case that you were inspired by a sea sponge?

The blue one is very pretty and the boots are FABULOUS so it's not all bad!

I like you being on blogger too. Straightforward layouts work well for the reader too. I am put off by those blogs where I have to click on a post to see all of it.

Is it wrong of me to say I like your pot? I do at least like the texture of it, that looks pretty good to me. Pottery is unpredictable and scary I think. I mean if you had loved it, it may have exploded in the kiln. Pottery is living dangerously. I am liking the blue one like everyone else.

I don't have a memory for aesthetics from the 90's. I know I watched 30 something and wanted to be like Hope(?) but that's it really.
