Quick post to say

FAMILY DO NOT LOOK (presents).

No, really, family, do not look. Go away.

First, non-family readers, look, made a mitten, didn't iron the duvet,
It's a gnome. It will look better when I've blocked it
Who hates knitting thumbs? I hate it so
Second, while I'm dashing about trying to get myself together to go visit family for a week and failing; there is a guest blog post by me on Ros's blog tomorrow in case you want to go and have a look. She's going to send me those Louboutin shoes for doing it, I hope we are the same size, I am UK 6 Euro 39 but I can get into a 5 if I have to. Also, Ros, I can walk very well in heels so you do not need to worry that you will be giving me a white elephant, no, I will be able to wear those Louboutins for my glamorous life of watching The Real Housewives Of Orange County while hoovering, and going to talk to the fish man. No that was a joke, do not worry, thank you for having me xoxo.

Very cute gnome. Your colorwork is awesome! Also, does anyone really iron their duvet?

Gnomes! Awesome. I am with you on thumbs - so annoying and fiddly.

Most impressive - loving Mr Gnome, you are very clever at all this tricky stuff! I have never made a thumb but I didn't like it when I was down to 12 stitches on my socks so I think I can assume it is even more difficult to manipulate so few stitches. I think you can get really short dpns - well shorter than the average ones, that might help a bit. On the other hand all the stitches might fall off?

Are duvets supposed to be ironed? I have arranged our family lifestyle so that the iron rarely gets used for anything other than quilt fabric. Please let go of the guilt of the duvet being rumpled -- you have better things to do. Like make gnome mittens. (They are beautiful -- excellent colorwork!)

I feel that the Jimmy Choos would match your mittens and add a touch of class as you totter off in the sunset wearing them!

Start scrunching your feet, I am a size 4/37 but the pain will be worth it...

What is this *ironing* you speak of?
