Did somebody tell her, you can really be redeemed

I think I’m bored now of being quite as low maintenance (aesthetically) as I have been recently (my mother will be perking up at this and will be thinking, hooray, perhaps Susie will at last get rid of those brown corduroy trousers). So I thought I would paint my nails. I dig about in the random-things-drawer, this is what I find:
I am not feeling inspired
Where have all my nail polishes gone? Why have I only got left yellow, blue which I am bored of, an imitation of Rouge Noir which has dried up, coral which does not suit me and a small bottle of grey which came free with a magazine? You know how this happened. When I left the Job Of Doom ages and ages ago I subconsciously donned sackcloth and ashes, and either threw away or Ebayed anything frivolous or that possibly might make me look attractive, let us not analyse that one too rigorously. Well here I am now, sitting about in a shirt that is 10 years old* and no choice of nail polish colours. That wasn’t very empowering, was it? Well, luckily, I find myself in possession of a £5 Boots No. 7 voucher and I know that Boots No. 7 nail polish is £7, so for the relatively small outlay of £2 I could have fresh new nails, and I am walking through town tomorrow so I can pick some up. What colour shall I buy?

*Boden. I think this shirt is indestructible. I may send it to them to use in their promotional literature.

This reminds me of the conversation I had with partner a few hours ago. He says I need new clothes. I'm sitting here in a tank top and shorts that are about 12+ years old. They are comfy.

Buy green - any shade. I love green nails ;)

Or orange - but I love anything orange in general.

Or, you know, something you like!

I would have gone for coral LOL but I guess a nice pink will do :-) I'm not much for these 'new' colors ...blue nails makes people look like corpses ...

I have a Boots Number 7 Stay Perfect nail varnish in Highland Mist that came free with some other purchase. I use it on my toes in summer. Obviously I'm the low end of maintenance type that you probably don't want tips from but I'd have a look at it. It is OK.

Heh, I would have gone for coral as well. If you can pull off yellow, you can pull off anything!

I need some polish called Boots #7! Last year I started wearing polish again and I got a bunch of it as gifts at Christmas...I usually do then on Sunday nights...last week they were orange, not bright pink...I just bought a really deep, deep purple I can't wait to wear...

Vivianne! I've gone for corpse nails! You're going to hate them!

Mooncalf, I've just looked at Highland Mist on the website and it is very pretty. I didn't see that one in our Boots though as they seemed to have a small range. Hopefully they will give me another voucher and then I can get more.
